A Nigerian woman has sparked emotional reactions online after revealing that her mother and brother were allegedly kidnapped while travelling to a farm in Ogun State.
According to her narration, her mother and brother had travelled early in the day before she woke up. The pair reportedly headed to the family farm located in Ogun State, and everything initially seemed normal as they stayed in touch through calls and messages.
She explained that she had spoken with both her mother and brother after they arrived safely at the farm. They even exchanged pictures before communication suddenly stopped.
The lady said her brother’s sudden disappearance from social media raised concern because he was always active online. At first, she assumed it was a network issue due to the remote location of the farm.
However, the situation reportedly took a terrifying turn later that night when she woke up to a voice note from her mother.
In the emotional message, her mother allegedly revealed that they had been kidnapped and that the abductors were demanding ₦100 million ransom. According to the victim, she pleaded with the kidnappers to reduce the amount to ₦50 million.
The distraught daughter said she immediately tried calling her mother back, but the phone was allegedly seized after someone hit her mother during the call.
She further revealed that repeated attempts to reach both her mother and brother have been unsuccessful. During another brief call the following morning, her mother reportedly asked how much money had been raised, adding that the abductors insisted on cash payment.
The woman also disclosed that her mother informed her that she had not seen her brother since they were separated by the kidnappers.
The heartbreaking story has generated sympathy and concern online, with many Nigerians calling for urgent action from security agencies to tackle the growing insecurity and kidnapping cases across the country.
At the time of filing this report, authorities have not officially released a statement regarding the alleged incident.
