Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has once again demonstrated his commitment to education and community development by donating ₦10 million towards the reconstruction of Practising Primary School in Agulu, Anambra State.
During his visit to the historic institution on May 21st, Peter Obi expressed concern over the devastating fire outbreak that destroyed part of the school last year. Established in 1922, the school has served as a major educational foundation for generations of students in Agulu and surrounding communities.
According to Obi, he had previously pledged to support the rebuilding of the damaged structures and help provide a more conducive learning environment for the pupils. Fulfilling that promise, he returned to the school to present an initial donation of ₦10 million to kickstart the reconstruction process.
Speaking during the visit, Obi emphasized that investing in education remains one of the most important ways to secure a brighter future for any society. He noted that rebuilding schools goes beyond replacing damaged buildings—it is about restoring hope, preserving history, and creating opportunities for young people to succeed.
The former presidential candidate also interacted with the students, encouraging them to remain disciplined, focused, and dedicated to their studies. He reminded them that their future depends greatly on the effort and commitment they put into education today.
The visit has attracted praise from supporters and community members who commended the gesture as another example of Obi’s continued advocacy for quality education and youth development in Nigeria.
Ending his remarks with his popular slogan, Peter Obi stated, “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
