A Nigerian lady has sparked massive reactions online after sharing an emotional experience she had with an Uber driver in Abuja, highlighting the harsh economic realities many families are currently facing in Nigeria.

According to her viral story, the ride started unusually quiet. The driver said almost nothing throughout the trip. There was no music playing, no small talk, and the atmosphere inside the car felt heavy.

Halfway into the journey, the driver received a phone call through the car speaker. It was his little daughter.

“Daddy, mummy said we should ask if you’re coming home today because there’s no food again,” the innocent child said.

The lady explained that the driver paused silently for a few seconds before softly replying:

“I’ll bring something.”
